Saturn Extravaganza in Johannesburg

ASSA Johannesburg will be hosting another Saturn Extravaganza. There will be a 30 minute talk in the auditorium on Saturn and the Cassini-Huygens Probe. The 26 inch refractor in the Innes Dome will be locked on Saturn for the evening and you are welcome to come along and feast your eyes on this wondrous ringed gas giant. Bring your digital cameras and snap a few photos through the eyepiece. Who knows, you may just capture a beauty!

There will be other telescopes set up on the lawns outside the dome to compare views and the Society's domes on the hilltop will also be open for viewing.

When: Saturday, 2 April 2005 - 7pm onwards

Where: 18A Gill Street, Observatory, Johannesburg

Donation (at the door): R20 Adults, R10 Members, Young astronomers under 12 years - free!

Refreshments will be on sale. Bring a picnic basket for your own evening snacks.
