About the Section

This Section, under the direction of Cliff Turk, has formed the South African Dark Sky Association (SADSA) with the objective of drawing people's attention to the problems of light pollution.

These problems not only affect astronomers views of the night sky but also cause a tremendous amount of money to be wasted on light which shines upwards and does no one any good.

Properly designed and aimed light fittings will not only preserve out beautiful night sky for our children to see, but will save many thousands and perhaps even millions of Rands in energy costs.
